Data Protection Policy

Thank you for your interest in my services.

As the operator of the website ‘Connecting across Boundaries – Overcoming Boundaries Together’, I take the protection of your personal data very seriously. I treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

When you use this website, various personal data is collected. Personal data (hereinafter also referred to as ‘data’) is data that can be used to identify you personally. This privacy policy explains what data I collect as the operator of the website. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done. It applies to all processing of your data carried out by me, both in the context of providing my services and, in particular, on my website and in mobile applications.

The terms used are not gender-specific.

I would like to point out that internet-based data transmissions, e.g. by email, may in principle have security gaps, so absolute protection may not be guaranteed.

Data collection

Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. By using the website, you consent to the collection, processing and use of data as described below.

Data is collected, on the one hand, when you provide it to me. This may be data that you enter in a contact form, for example. Other data is collected by IT systems when you visit the website. This is primarily technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.

Data usage

The collection and use of your data serves exclusively to provide and improve my services. Some of the data is collected to ensure the error-free provision of the website. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour. Legally applicable deletion regulations are observed.

Data transfer to third parties

As a matter of principle, I only use your personal data within the scope of my services. Third parties only receive this data to the extent that the transfer is necessary for agreed services (e.g. in the case of co-mediation, if agreed with you).

As part of my business activities, I also work with various external agencies. This may require the transfer of personal data to these external agencies. I only pass on personal data to external bodies if this is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract, if I am legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), if I have a legitimate interest in passing on the data in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the transfer of data.

Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period is specified in this data protection policy, your personal data will remain with me until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless there are other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. tax or commercial law retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will take place once these reasons no longer apply.

User rights

Revocation: You have the right to revoke your consent to the collection of data at any time. This right applies with effect for the future; data collected prior to the revocation remains unaffected.

Confirmation and access: You have the right to request confirmation as to whether and how I obtain personal data from you. This right is implemented through this privacy policy. In addition, you can request a copy of your personal data as stored by me, or other information, by email.

Restriction of processing: You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may – apart from its storage – only be processed with your consent or for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

Correction, deletion or blocking: You have the right to have your data corrected, deleted or blocked.

Data portability: You have the right to have data that I process in an automated format (on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract) handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done if it is technically feasible.

If you wish to exercise one or more of these rights, please send me an email at doris.basler [at] outlook.com

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

If you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you is unlawful, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

This website is hosted externally. The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host’s servers. This may include IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website accesses and other data generated via a website. External hosting is carried out for the purpose of fulfilling contracts with my potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR and § 25 (1) TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information on the user’s terminal device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. The external host will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil its service obligations and will follow the instructions of the website operator with regard to this data.

Cookies

My website uses so-called ‘cookies’. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or your web browser automatically deletes them. Cookies can originate from me (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping basket function or the display of videos). Other cookies can be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary for the electronic communication process, for the provision of certain functions requested by you (e.g. for a shopping basket function) or for the optimisation of the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified.

As the operator of the website, I have a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of my services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TTDSG); Consent can be revoked at any time. You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Contact form or enquiries by e-mail/telephone

If you send me enquiries via the contact form, by email or by telephone, the data you provide will be stored and processed for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. I will not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, provided that your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time. The data you enter in the contact form will remain with me until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
